0.8.2 fixes a lot of security bugs and also standards support and site compatibility, UI bugs and crashs.
The changes from 0.7 to 0.8 are listed below.
Countless of improvements have been made to Mozilla, too many to mention here.
- Tabbed browsing
Allows you to open several webpages in one window.
- Link toolbar
(for sites which support it)
Eases navigation within a site.
Beonex Communicator has made some improvements on its own, e.g.:
- Referrer suppression more compatible
If you click on a link, the referrer reveals the location of the document with the link to the linked server.
This may be a privacy violation.
Previous versions of Beonex Communicator suppressed this, but some misguided websites blocked all requests without referrer.
We now have a solution to circumvent this bad type of blocking.
- Forced session cookies
Cookies are not saved, protecting your online privacy
(optional, enabled by default)
- Simple HTML / As Plain Text modes
The Simple HTML mode sanitizes incoming HTML mails and posts to clean them up from potential security threats and excessive visual formatting.
Another new mode allows you to view all incoming messages as plaintext, even HTML mails.
