   • RAM: 64 MB, 128 MB recommended

3. Download
   • Download Communicator for Linux on Intel Pentium 2/3/4 or AMD Athlon/Duron or
   • Download Communicator for Linux on Intel Pentium or AMD K6
   • .tar.bz2, 8.8 MB
   • Includes Navigator (with MathML and XSLT enabled), Composer, Mailnews, ChatZilla and PSM
4. Release-notes
   While downloading, be sure to read at least the Important section of the release-notes.
5. Open a shell
   
   Open a shell (command prompt, terminal)
6. Select a directory to install Communicator in
   (You can install as root and run as normal user.)
   cd into this directory.
7. Unpack the file you downloaded
   E.g. either
   tar xvIf beonex-comm-0.7-pre-linux-i686.tar.bz2
   or
   bzip2 -dc beonex-comm-0.7-pre-linux-i686.tar.bz2 | tar xvf -
8. Start Communicator
   • Go into the Beonex Communicator installation directory (cd beonex-comm) and start ./beonex-comm.
9. Additional packages
   Install additional packages e.g.
   • German user-interface
   • Java
10. Mailing list
    Subscribe to the announce mailing list. Strongly recommended for security updates.
